Additional Upcoming Installment of Evil Dead Breaks Free from Underground

In a twisting tale of the macabre, the malevolent Deadites from Evil Dead refuse to meet their end, keeping the chilling narrative alive! The success of last year's chilling masterpiece, Evil Dead Rise, proved that even without the horror icon Bruce Campbell as the lead, thrilling Evil Dead tales can still be spun.

Recently, we've heard whispers of an Evil Dead "spin-off" and, more intriguingly, news about a whole new movie in the pipeline! Deadline was the first to break the news about Francis Galluppi taking charge as the writer and director of a new Evil Dead film, produced by Ghost House Pictures - the brainchild of the Evil Dead originals, Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert. While plot details are scarce, Galluppi has developed an original story that has caught Raimi's keen eye, as he attests, "Francis Galluppi knows when to keep us on edge with simmering tension and when to ambush us with jaw-dropping violence."

Raimi is already ahead of the game, as Galluppi's directorial debut, The Last Stop in Yuma County, is yet to hit theaters, despite premiering at Fantastic Fest last fall. The film follows a traveling salesman's harrowing encounter with two ruthless bank robbers. As for that Evil Dead spin-off, it's in the capable hands of French filmmaker Sébastien Vaniček, known for his Autumn's Harvest (a.k.a. Infested), a creepy tale that made waves as a Fantastic Fest breakout and recently premiered on Shudder, leaving critics calling it "Attack the Block meets Arachnophobia on acid"!
