Technological Transformation with Generative AI in Russian Industry
AI advancements are picking up momentum.
Generative AI is poised to revolutionize various sectors of the Russian industry, promising significant improvements in efficiency and innovation. This transformative technology can automate complex tasks, generate novel content such as designs and solutions, and optimize supply chains, all of which contribute to enhanced product development, customer service, and overall efficiency.
Key Use Cases in Russian Industry
Agriculture
In agriculture, generative AI can assist farmers by creating new scenarios, developing recommendations, and providing digital assistance. This can lead to improved crop management and yield forecasting.
Industry and Manufacturing
Generative AI can optimize production processes, enhance product design, and automate customer service, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable production architecture.
Supply Chain Management
By leveraging AI, Russian companies can build digital, adaptive, and autonomous supply chains, offering a competitive advantage through efficiency and sustainability.
Education and Training
To address the shortage of skilled IT specialists in Russia, new training programs in AI will be introduced from 2025, enabling the workforce to effectively implement and manage AI technologies.
Access to AI Technologies
Despite Western sanctions, Russia is accessing advanced AI technologies through international trade networks, which could support AI implementation in various sectors. The Russian AI Development Center is also working on a national AI legislative framework to coordinate AI development and governance across industries.
The Future of Generative AI in Russian Industry
Two main scenarios for GenAI application in industry are being discussed: "breakthrough" and "supporting". Breakthrough projects, such as generative design and application of generative AI in R&D, can only be undertaken by companies with a high level of GenAI maturity. On the other hand, innovative projects that fall under the category of "low-hanging fruits" include solutions that support current business and production processes, such as intelligent search in regulatory documents, automatic meeting protocols, and optimization of procurement processes.
The widespread adoption of generative AI in Russian industry, which accounts for over 30% of the country's GDP, is expected to lead to a fundamental transformation of technological processes and business models.
