Swedish AI Startup Tzafon Raises $9.7 Million for Action-Oriented AI Agents

AI startup Tzafon secures $9.7M in pre-seed funding for AI compute expansion and Lightcone launch.

Tzafon, a Swedish AI startup that specialises in developing action-oriented AI agents, has recently secured $9.7 million in a pre-seed funding round. This substantial investment marks one of the largest pre-seed rounds in Sweden.

The funding will primarily be utilised to scale Tzafon's AI computing infrastructure, expand engineering teams, and accelerate the development of Lightcone, the company's flagship product. Lightcone is an AI agent designed to operate seamlessly on users' computers, performing actions on their behalf to enhance productivity and reduce digital friction.

HV Capital led the extension round, with participation from Streamlined VC, Kakao VC, Oliver Jung, and angel investors from OpenAI and xAI. Lina Chong, Partner at HV Capital, commented on the potential of Tzafon's AI agents, emphasising their ability to automate complex digital tasks across multiple applications and platforms.

Noah Löfquist, CEO and co-founder of Tzafon, shared his vision for the company. He aims to build AI agents that can collaborate across diverse digital and future physical domains, pushing the boundaries of agent autonomy beyond current AI capabilities.

Tzafon's technology is based on a unique framework that allows agents to operate across digital environments. The first model developed by Tzafon has demonstrated industry-leading performance in web-based tasks. The technology integrates advanced machine learning, reinforcement learning, and a proprietary AI architecture.

Noah Löfquist highlighted Tzafon's approach as fundamentally reshaping how people leverage AI, providing transformational results, not just incremental improvements. He also emphasised the need for AI to move beyond read/write capabilities and into the realm of actions.

In the near future, users will be able to access Lightcone directly and tap into cutting-edge agentic technology. The new funding will also speed up product development and reinforce Tzafon's strategic position in the AI market. Moreover, Tzafon aims to quickly scale its compute infrastructure to meet rising demand with the new funding.
