All goods unveiled during Meta Connect 2025 conference
At Meta Connect 2025, the tech giant unveiled a new lineup of AI-powered smart glasses, including the Oakley Meta Vanguard and the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2.
The Oakley Meta Vanguard, designed for athletes and fitness enthusiasts, is set to hit the market on October 21, 2025. The sleek device weighs just 66 grams and features three swappable nose pads for a comfortable fit. The Vanguard is sweatproof, dust-resistant, and even brief water-resistant, making it ideal for active lifestyles. Pre-orders for the Vanguard are open now, with shipping beginning on its release date. The price for the Vanguard in Germany is €549. In the US, it retails at $499.
Meanwhile, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 offers a more versatile experience. Available immediately after the keynote on September 17, the Gen 2 comes in various frame styles, including Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner. The Gen 2 features a 12MP wide-angle lens with a 122-degree field of view and boasts a built-in color display. It offers 8 hours of battery life, nearly double that of the previous version. The Gen 2 also supports 3K Ultra HD video at 60 frames per second with HDR.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 is not just about video and photography, though. It also offers 32GB of local storage and an IPX4 water resistance rating. The device is equipped with a 12MP camera and six microphones, making it perfect for video calls and voice commands. The Gen 2 also comes with the Ray-Ban Meta Display, which offers 6 hours of mixed use and a case that adds up to 30 hours. It boasts 42 pixels per degree and a brightness of 5,000 nits.
In addition to the smart glasses, Meta also introduced the Meta Neural Band, a water-resistant bracelet that detects finger movements. The company also announced Horizon TV, a new entertainment hub built into Quest headsets.
Both the Oakley Meta Vanguard and the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 are set to revolutionize the way we interact with technology, offering a seamless blend of style, functionality, and innovation.
