Amazon.de's 2013 Christmas Sales: Entertainment and Grooming Dominate

Amazon.de's Christmas sales in 2013 were dominated by entertainment and grooming products. The best-selling DVD was 'Despicable Me 2', while 'Just Dance 2014' topped the games chart. Meanwhile, Robbie Williams' 'Swings Both Ways' was the most popular music album.

Men's razors outsold women's epilators by a factor of three, and aftershaves were nearly double the number of women's perfumes. Necklaces were gifted nearly thirty times more than ties. The best-selling book was 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth' by Jeff Kinney.

Cyber Monday saw a record 36.8 million items ordered worldwide, at a rate of 426 items per second. The peak ordering day was December 15, with over 4.6 million items ordered, equivalent to 53 products per second.

Amazon.de's Christmas sales in 2013 showed a strong preference for entertainment and grooming products, with a significant difference in the gifting of accessories. The peak ordering day and Cyber Monday set new records for the online retailer.
