AMD's Ryzen 7 5700X3D Reaches End-of-Life and is Now Hard to Find

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, a popular gaming processor, has officially reached end-of-life status and is no longer available new from major U.S. retailers such as Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, B&H Photo, and Micro Center as of August 2025.

This CPU, which debuted in January 2024 as a cheaper alternative to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, slots in between the 5800X3D and the MicroCenter-exclusive Ryzen 5 5600X3D. Despite its lower clock speeds, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D proved to be one of AMD's most competitive gaming CPUs, outperforming entry-level Zen 4 parts by 13% thanks to its 3D-VCache technology.

The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is a downclocked variant of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, featuring eight Zen 3 cores, 96MB of L3 cache, and a 400MHz clock speed reduction compared to its pricier brother. It peaked at just 4.1GHz, while the Ryzen 7 5800X3D peaked at 4.5GHz.

In our review, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D was just 9% slower than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D on average at 1080p, while being 35% cheaper. It was also 3% faster than Intel's Core i5-14600K.

Retailers can no longer order the Ryzen 7 5700X3D from AMD, and remaining stocks are mostly limited to third-party sellers or used markets like eBay, with prices ranging from $278.09 to $526.17. In the Netherlands, Ryzen 7 5700X3D prices have started to climb, reportedly from €225 to €260.

As the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is no longer in production, AMD is shifting its focus to newer CPUs with 3D V-Cache technology designed for the AM5 platform. Rumored upcoming replacements include the Ryzen 5 9600X3D, which is expected to provide budget-friendly, cache-heavy gaming performance for the AM5 socket, with a potential release before the end of 2025.

For those seeking an AM4 3D V-Cache CPU now, options are limited to used units or keeping the Ryzen 7 5700X3D if they already have one. Those looking for new products with similar cache technology should consider transitioning to the AM5 platform when the new models arrive. Ebay has a variety of used Ryzen 7 5700X3D chips starting as low as $205.

  1. With the end-of-life status of the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, gadget enthusiasts might find it challenging to purchase this popular gaming processor new.
  2. Despite its limited availability due to end-of-life status, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, a testament to technology innovation with its 3D-VCache technology, continues to compete favorably with entry-level Zen 4 parts, offering impressive gaming performance for eager gamers.
