Apple AirPods Revolutionize Gaming with 'RidePods - Race with Head'

A new era of gaming has arrived with the release of 'RidePods - Race with Head'. This innovative game, developed by Twelve South, uses Apple's AirPods as motion controllers, offering an immersive motorcycle racing experience controlled solely by head movements.

The groundbreaking game allows players to steer by tilting their head, accelerate or brake by moving their head forward or backward. This intuitive and fast-paced gameplay challenges players to beat their own records, providing a smooth and responsive handling experience.

The spatial audio feature of Apple's AirPods, successfully reverse-engineered by developer Ali Tanis, enables this unique motion control. The game is compatible with AirPods Pro and AirPods (3rd Generation), ensuring an optimal gaming experience. Beyond RidePods, Tanis' work opens up possibilities for more innovative apps to utilise the spatial audio API.

RidePods - Race with Head, the first game using Apple's AirPods as motion controllers, is now available on the App Store for iOS and iPadOS devices. This release marks a significant step in gaming innovation, paving the way for future apps to explore the potential of spatial audio.
