Apple News Rolls Out Audio Features and Local Updates

Apple has rolled out new features for its News app. Users in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada can now enjoy narrated articles and local news updates, but they must first ensure their devices are running the latest software.

The new audio features are available to users who update to iOS 13.6. Meanwhile, the local news features require iOS 13.6, iPadOS 13.6, and macOS 10.15.6. These updates bring a fresh experience to Apple News users.

Apple News+ Audio Stories, part of the Apple News+ subscription service, are now accessible in the four mentioned countries. This service offers narrated articles from various magazines and newspapers, produced by Apple News with professional voice actors. The subscription can be shared among up to six family members through Family Sharing.

The Apple News+ subscription is priced at $9.99/month in the US, £9.99/month in the UK, $14.99 AUD/month in Australia, and $12.99 CAD/month in Canada. It requires iOS 12.2 or later and macOS 10.14.4 or later. New subscribers can enjoy a free one-month trial that automatically renews.

With these updates, Apple News users can now enjoy a more immersive reading experience with audio features and stay informed with local news. The Apple News+ subscription service continues to expand its offerings, making it an attractive option for news enthusiasts.
