The latest addition to Apple's Mac mini lineup, the Mac mini with M2 Pro and M2, is making waves in the creative and gaming communities with its impressive performance boost.
In comparison to the 27-inch iMac with Intel Core i7 and Radeon Pro 5500 XT, the Mac mini with M2 Pro offers up to 4.4x faster object tracking in Final Cut Pro, 5.5x faster panoramic merge in Adobe Lightroom Classic, and up to 50 percent faster filter and function performance in Adobe Photoshop.
The Mac mini with M2 Pro also delivers up to 2.5x faster graphics performance in Affinity Photo and up to 2.8x faster gameplay in Resident Evil Village compared to the previous-generation M1 Mac mini.
When it comes to machine learning (ML) tasks, the Mac mini with M2 Pro offers up to 22x faster ML image upscaling performance in Pixelmator Pro and up to 4.2x faster ProRes transcode in Final Cut Pro compared to the Mac mini with Intel Core i7.
The next-generation Neural Engine in M2 Pro is 40 percent faster than M1, further enhancing the speed of ML tasks.

With its powerful media engine, the Mac mini with M2 Pro can simultaneously play up to five streams of 8K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps, or up to 23 streams of 4K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps.
