In a significant move for the payments industry, Juan Franco has been announced as the new global CEO of Getnet, effective soon. The news comes following the resignation of Kush Saxena, who will transition into an advisory role to the board and serve as the chairman of Getnet's Mexican tech partner MIT.

Getnet, Getnet's broader payments business, is expected to continue expanding and delivering double-digit revenue growth, with the payments business segment being a growing one. The company, which processes over €200 billion payments every year from 1.3 million merchants globally, has seen its total payment volume double in the last three years.

Juan Franco brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously worked as senior vice president Asia-Pacific at Canadian fintech company Nuvei and as the CEO and co-founder of Paymentez, a leading online payment platform in Latin America. Before his tenure at Paymentez and Nuvei, Franco held senior roles at American companies in Latin America, including VMWare and Salesforce. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from Universidad del Rosario in Colombia.

Franco will be based in Madrid and will be tasked with driving new innovations for customers and continuing Getnet's growth trajectory. Kush Saxena, in his new role, will focus on overseeing and advising on future projects and initiatives for the business globally.

Ana Botín, the executive chair of Santander and PagoNxt, has played a key role in the leadership of Getnet. The company recently launched a unique multi-market e-commerce payment solution in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Chile, further expanding its global footprint.

Kush Saxena's resignation, which took place on November 22, 2024, was for personal reasons. He made an important contribution to the success of the Getnet business during his tenure as CEO. Franco's appointment marks a new chapter for Getnet, as the company continues to innovate and grow in the payments industry.

Juan Franco, in his new role as the global CEO of Getnet, will focus on driving new innovations for customers and continuing the company's growth trajectory in the finance sector, specifically the payments business segment. Kush Saxena, transitioning into an advisory role to the board and serving as the chairman of Getnet's Mexican tech partner MIT, will use his knowledge of technology to oversee and advise on future projects and initiatives for the business globally.
