Artificial Intelligence Week Begins in Dubai, Highlighting AI's Significant Impact in Determining Tomorrow's Course

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Dubai AI Week, a week-long celebration of artificial intelligence (AI), has commenced today and will run until the 25th of April. The event, organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) and overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), promises to be a significant gathering as it focuses on governance, investment, infrastructure, and talent.

The event, which is taking place at various venues across the city, begins with the AI Retreat at the Museum of the Future. This opening event convenes 150 senior officials and AI leaders for discussions on the future of AI and its role in shaping Dubai's future.

One of the major highlights of Dubai AI Week is the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, a competition that showcases the latest advancements in AI technology. Sector-specific events in education, health, and innovation will complement the week-long programme, providing a comprehensive exploration of AI's potential across various industries.

The Dubai Assembly for AI, running in parallel at AREA 2071, is another significant event. It features over 50 sessions and 60 AI startups from 15 countries, including tech giants such as Microsoft, Meta, and Google. Participants from more than 10,000 individuals from over 100 nationalities are expected to attend.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), has reaffirmed that AI is the foundation of Dubai's future. Sheikh Hamdan's vision for Dubai is to position it as a global center for AI, aiming to become a hub by 2031. This involves training government employees in AI, supporting startups, and enhancing service efficiency.

Dubai's readiness to lead the next wave of AI development is highlighted by Sheikh Hamdan, who has also announced a new standard for evaluating government entities, academia, and private sector players based on their AI integration.

In addition to the main events, Dubai AI Week also includes the Dubai AI Festival, providing a platform for the public to engage with AI and understand its potential benefits and applications.
