Asian Battery Metals Expands Oval Cu-Ni-PGE Discovery, Identifies New Targets

Asian Battery Metals (ASX: AZ9) has made significant progress at its Yambat Project in Western Mongolia. Recent drilling has expanded the Oval Cu-Ni-PGE discovery, and new high-priority targets have been identified.

The company's Phase 4 exploration program, led by Managing Director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren, has extended mineralisation at the Oval discovery. Drillhole OVD048 intercepted 16 meters of mineralised mafic intrusion near surface, stretching the mineralisation 30 meters up-dip to the north. Assay results are pending but expected within two weeks. Following these results, the company plans to conduct mineralogy studies and recommence initial metallurgical testing.

At the Copper Ridge Prospect, a high-conductance MLEM plate (10,534 Siemens) has been modelled along the margin of a strong magnetic anomaly, representing another high-priority drilling target. Meanwhile, extended drillhole OVD011E confirmed sulphide mineralisation continuity and identified a deep conductive plate (8,665 Siemens) along the interpreted feeder trend at Oval. Additionally, the exploration program identified a high-conductance electromagnetic plate (LP801_P1, 294 Siemens) at the Bayan Sair Tenement, coincident with a large magnetic anomaly, also a high-priority drilling target.

Drillhole OVD047 intersected significant disseminated mineralisation at the Oval discovery, including 56 meters from 29.2m depth and 29 meters from 102.1m. Furthermore, drillhole SC11 at the MS1 prospect intercepted 29.6 meters of disseminated sulphide mineralisation at depth, including three distinct zones, suggesting potential for stronger mineralisation in deeper zones.

Asian Battery Metals' ongoing exploration efforts at Yambat have successfully expanded the Oval Cu-Ni-PGE discovery and identified new high-priority targets. The company is poised to continue its exploration success, with pending assay results and upcoming mineralogy studies. Additionally, Asian Battery Metals is planning due diligence drilling at the Maikhan Uul Cu-Au VMS project ahead of potential acquisition, further diversifying its portfolio of copper, nickel, PGE, lithium, and graphite assets in Mongolia.
