Attendees at IBC2025 Granted Ticket-Free Journey on Public Transportation

In an innovative move towards a sustainable and seamless event experience, the organisers of IBC2025 have announced the integration of Amsterdam's public transport pass into the official event badges. This groundbreaking collaboration between RAI Amsterdam, GVB (Amsterdam's public transport operator), and credentialing provider CredsNow, aims to simplify travel for tens of thousands of attendees moving between the RAI venue and central Amsterdam.

The integration works by embedding a QR code on each attendee's badge, directly linked to GVB's public transport system. This QR code enables ticketless, seamless access to the city's trams, buses, and metro services without the need for separate tickets, cards, or transport apps.

Each IBC2025 badge features a QR code developed in partnership with the aforementioned organisations. Attendees simply need to scan the QR code on their badge when using GVB public transport to gain entry, effectively using their event badge as a transit pass.

This system eliminates the need to juggle multiple transport tickets or apps, simplifying travel for attendees. Moreover, it promotes sustainability by encouraging public transport use and reduces single-use ticket waste.

IBC's ambition to create sustainable events is supported by this integration. It is an example of collaboration between event organisers, venue partners, and public transport operators, and is part of IBC's ongoing efforts to ensure a seamless and convenient experience for attendees.

For the first time, this initiative will provide for frictionless, ticket-free access to the city's extensive tram, bus, and metro network. The integration connects the city's transport system directly to the badge, further promoting sustainability by reducing the need for physical tickets and streamlining the transportation process.

This integration reflects IBC's commitment to sustainability, user-centric innovation, and making Amsterdam a welcoming and accessible destination for IBC2025. RAI Amsterdam has enabled free city travel for all IBC attendees across GVB's public transport network for many years.

Attendees will be able to use their badge to enter the venue and board any GVB-operated service throughout the city during IBC2025, which takes place from Sept. 12-15 at the RAI Amsterdam. The integration is a part of RAI's long-term commitment to the IBC Show.

In summary, the IBC2025 badges act as all-in-one credentials, leveraging embedded QR codes to provide ticketless entry to Amsterdam's trams, buses, and metro via the GVB system, thereby streamlining attendee mobility while demonstrating a technology-driven, sustainable event approach.

The embedding of QR codes on IBC2025 badges, developed in partnership with RAI Amsterdam, GVB, and CredsNow, transforms these badges into all-in-one credentials for a seamless event experience. This integration allows attendees to access Amsterdam's public transport services without requiring separate tickets, cards, or apps, fostering sustainability by eliminating single-use ticket waste. Furthermore, the technology-driven approach of IBC2025 promotes user-centric innovation and positions Amsterdam as an accommodation-friendly destination for the event.
