BYD Establishes New Headquarters in Offenbach, Germany

BYD, the world-leading manufacturer of electric vehicles, has chosen Offenbach as the location for its new German headquarters. The company has rented around 5,000 square meters of office space in the modern and sustainable GROW office building at Kaiserlei, located near Frankfurt.

The GROW office building is a significant attraction for international companies, known for its modernity, sustainability, and excellent accessibility. It offers direct connections to motorways, public transport, and the airport, making it an ideal location for businesses seeking to expand in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region.

The proximity to other international companies and the good accessibility of the area played a role in BYD's decision to settle in Offenbach. The company is already active in several European countries and has been expanding its dealer network in Germany since early 2023.

Offenbach's Kaiserlei district is already home to other major automotive companies like Hyundai, making it an attractive automotive business hub. BYD's choice reflects a strategic preference for the local environment and availability of suitable space rather than a symbolic association with Frankfurt.

The spaces in the GROW office building will serve as the main headquarters for BYD's sales, marketing, and administrative activities in Germany in the future. In addition, the company plans to support sales in Switzerland from this location.

Maria Grazia Davino, SVP Regional Managing Director of BYD, expressed her pleasure at building the headquarters in the GROW and continuing to drive the positive development of their business in the German-speaking markets.

Offenbach's Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke emphasized the importance of the settlement for the city, stating that it provides good jobs for the citizens of Offenbach, particularly in sectors with a future perspective like electric vehicle manufacturing. BYD's presence in the city is a testament to its potential as a hub for innovative and sustainable businesses.

The GROW office building at Kaiserlei comprises around 20,000 square meters of rental space, offering flexible room concepts, a DGNB-Gold certification for sustainability, and a rooftop terrace with a view of the Frankfurt skyline.

The settlement of BYD in the GROW office building is considered a milestone for the project and a further impetus for the location development at Kaiserlei. FRM played a role in the settlement, and Mayor Schwenke expressed his thanks for the good cooperation.

BYD, a company with a future perspective, is not only good for the people of Offenbach but also for the environment, as it offers electric passenger cars, buses, trucks, and battery technologies worldwide. The company's expansion in Europe with a new headquarters in Offenbach is a significant step towards a more sustainable future.
