Onvo L90 Flagship SUV Unveiled with Competitive Pricing
The Onvo L90, the second model from the Onvo brand, is now available for pre-orders following a successful test drive phase and an official launch event that took place at the end of July 2025.
Onvo, a prominent player in China's electric vehicle market, opened its doors for Chinese customers to test drive the L90 from July 23. The six-seat version of the L90 was the first to be made available for test drives, and nearly 600 vehicles were stationed at Onvo's showrooms across 140 cities.
The L90's pre-sales started on July 10, 2025, with an initial starting price of RMB 279,900 ($39,000). However, the official launch, which took place around July 31, 2025, saw a reduction in the price to RMB 265,800 ($36,940).
The L90 offers both six-seat and seven-seat options, making it a versatile choice for families. It is equipped with an 85-kWh battery pack, and under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental plan, the pre-sales starting price is RMB 193,900 ($27,000).
Onvo's strategy with the L90 is to competitively position the flagship SUV in the market with aggressive pricing aimed at boosting sales and supporting profitability goals. The success of this strategy will be evident as deliveries begin on August 1, 2025.
The L90 represents a significant step forward for Onvo, following the success of its first model, the L60. The company has shipped many vehicles of the L90 from its Hefei factory to stores in preparation for production. Images of large crowds of visitors viewing the L90 at Onvo stores have been shared by Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li this month.
Nio's shares traded on the US stock market have risen by about 40 percent since the L90's pre-sales, reflecting investor confidence in the company's growth prospects.
Onvo will begin accepting customer lock-in orders for the L90 following the launch event on July 31, 2025. Meanwhile, the five-seat version of the L90, the L80, is planned to be launched by Onvo in the fourth quarter of this year.
