Get Ready for a Cycling Revolution in Vercelli!

Looks like the city of Vercelli is gearing up for a surge in sustainable mobility with the revival of its shared bicycle service. This collaborative project between Atap and the Province aims to bring a touch of eco-friendliness to the capital.

Remember Bicincittà, that green transit alternative launched in 2017 by Maura Forte's administration? Well, times have changed, and this year, e-bikes with pedal assist are taking center stage. Gone are the days of clunky bicycle pillars at pick-up points; instead, expect simple signage at 20 virtual stations, including ones near the hospital, the municipality, train station, and Amazon.

If you're an Atap ticket or subscription holder, you'll savor hefty discounts of up to 90% on e-bike rentals.

Mayor Roberto Scheda also claims that a 12-kilometer bike path connecting Caresanablot to the Larizzate industrial area will be completed by 2027. This project, using existing infrastructure, especially in the city center, should boost cycling enthusiasts' excitement.

But, that's not all! In gestation are three fast charging stations for electric cars, each equipped with two charging points. Locations include Pittarello, Tigotà, and the parking lot of via Derna, near the Silvio Piola Stadium. Six cars can recharge simultaneously in under 30 minutes.

Additional charging columns will be installed in areas with longer stops, such as the parking lot of via Baratto and behind the train station in via Birago.

The Atap bus park has undergone a significant makeover, replacing diesel vehicles with eco-friendly electric and methane ones. To further encourage walking in the historic center, 310 new parking spaces have been added behind the train station.

Buckle up, Vercelli, it's time to embrace the bike revolution! Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting sustainable mobility initiatives. To find out the specific locations of the 20 e-bike stations, keep an eye on local news sources or contact the service directly.

In Vercelli's evolving lifestyle, home-and-garden sector, the city's sustainable living movement extends beyond bicycles, as plans for three fast charging stations for electric vehicles are underway. These stations, located in Pittarello, Tigotà, and via Derna near the Silvio Piola Stadium, will hasten the charging of six electric cars in under 30 minutes. Moreover, impactful transformations are happening in the home-and-garden sector, such as the introduction of electric vehicles to the Atap bus park, replacing diesel vehicles, and the addition of 310 new parking spaces behind the train station to incentivize walking in the historic center.
