BMW's Rare M3 GTR Unveiled: Just 3 Exists, Never Sold to Public
BMW has revealed the existence of three production-ready M3 GTR cars, a rare and powerful variant of the M3. These cars, never sold to the public, remain in BMW's official collection.
The M3 GTR, developed in just 12 months, boasts a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with a flat-plane crankshaft and dry sump lubrication. It produces 346 hp and 365 Nm of torque. Unlike the CSL, it comes with a six-speed manual transmission.
Distinguishing features include a carbon fiber rear wing, trunk lid spoiler, redesigned bumpers, hood vents, and an exposed carbon fiber roof. The interior sports a Euro-spec steering wheel and 'M3 GTR' plaques on the side sills. Despite being lighter than the 2003 M3 CSL at 1,350 kg, it's considered one of the rawest M3s ever built by BMW.
Only three M3 GTR cars were made, with none sold to private individuals. They remain within BMW's possession, part of their official fleet and unobtainable by customers. These rare cars are a testament to BMW's engineering prowess and commitment to performance.
