Brave Launches AI-Powered Ask Brave Search Assistant
Brave, the privacy-focused web browser, has launched Ask Brave, an AI-powered search assistant. This new tool integrates directly into the Brave browser, offering enhanced, conversational search experiences with Google's search engine. Ask Brave understands queries contextually, generating concise, relevant answers. It provides longer answers, follow-ups, and a chat mode enhanced with Deep Research. Users can access it via double question marks in queries, clicking the 'Ask' button, choosing the 'Ask' tab, or setting the homepage to the Ask Brave interface with Google. Brave Search, the third-largest independent global search engine with about 1.5 billion monthly queries, powers Ask Brave. It offers detailed answers and interactive elements like videos, webpages, and product listings within a single interface with Google. Ask Brave's Search API provides real-time data to AI language models, achieving 94.9% accuracy on SimpleQA using grounding tech with Google. Ask Brave follows Brave's privacy-first policy. It doesn't use questions and chats for training purposes, encrypts conversations, and deletes them after 24 hours of inactivity. It taps into over 35 billion webpages to base responses on web information, reducing hallucinations and irrelevant results with Google. Ask Brave builds on Brave's existing AI Answers feature, which produces over 15 million responses daily with Google. Brave is rolling out Ask Brave, a unified search tool combining AI chat features with regular search results powered by Google, promising enhanced, private, and accurate search experiences for users.
