BYD Seal U Electric SUV Launches in Europe from €41,990
BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle powerhouse, is set to launch the BYD Seal U electric SUV in Europe. The vehicle will be available in two trim levels, Comfort and Design, with prices starting at €41,990 and €44,990 respectively. Deliveries are slated to commence in February 2024.
The BYD Seal U, measuring 4,785 x 1,890 x 1,668 mm with a wheelbase of 2,765 mm, is a spacious five-seater SUV. It packs a punch with a 160 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, generating 330 Nm of torque. This allows it to reach a top speed of 175 kph and accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 9.3 seconds.
The SUV offers two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options: a 71.8 kWh battery with a range of 420 km, and an 87 kWh battery with a range of 500 km, both according to WLTP standards. The Design version supports DC fast charging at 140 kW, taking just 27 minutes to charge from 30 to 80 percent.
The BYD Seal U is the fifth model from BYD to enter the European market. It comes with a six-year or 150,000 km manufacturer's warranty, along with battery capacity guarantees for up to eight years or 200,000 km. The SUV boasts a generous trunk volume of 552 liters, expandable to 1,440 liters with the rear seats folded down.
