BYD Unveils Seal 6 DM-i Touring Plug-in Hybrid Wagon for Germany
BYD has unveiled the Seal 6 DM-i Touring, a plug-in hybrid wagon set to hit German roads soon. The vehicle offers an impressive electric range and a spacious interior, with prices starting at 48,990 euros.
The Seal 6 DM-i Touring boasts a 156 kW / 212 PS powertrain, a 19 kWh battery, and an electric range of up to 100 kilometers. Its 'Dual-Mode-Intelligence' system ensures efficient power usage, combining electric and gasoline engine power as needed. The wagon can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, reach a top speed of 180 km/h, and offers an average consumption of 1.7 liters per 100 kilometers.
The interior is spacious and well-crafted, featuring premium materials. The trunk capacity ranges from 675 to 1,535 liters. The Comfort-Lite version comes with an 80 km electric range and a 12.8-inch touchscreen, priced at 48,990 euros. The top Comfort version offers a 100 km electric range and a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen, starting at 49,990 euros.
BYD has high hopes for the Seal 6 DM-i Touring in Germany, planning to launch a wagon variant to cater to the local market's preferences. Despite selling 8,412 units by August 2025, falling short of its 50,000-unit target, BYD aims to expand its dealer network from 120 to 300 locations by the end of 2026. With its impressive range and features, the Seal 6 DM-i Touring is poised to make a mark in the German market.
