In a remarkable turn of events, the Chinese automotive brands OMODA and JAECOO have made a significant impact in the South African market. The brands achieved a record-breaking milestone in June 2025, selling over 1,000 units for the first time. This monumental achievement marks a remarkable month for the brand, with a total of 1,009 vehicles sold.

The OMODA C5 lineup was the star performer, with 693 units sold, making up 478 units of the standard C5 and 215 units of the C5 X Series. The Jaecoo J7 followed closely with 230 units sold, while the OMODA C9 SUV contributed 86 units. The growth in sales reflects South African consumers' positive response to the brand's offerings, which are perceived as fresh, exciting, and relevant.

OMODA and JAECOO's product lineup in South Africa includes the C5, C9, and Jaecoo J7. The C5, the most affordable model, has been a significant contributor to sales.
