Chinese firm Jia Yuan strengthens its capabilities in capital markets by recruiting an expert from Davis Polk.
Jennifer Ng, a renowned capital markets expert with over 15 years of experience in international finance, has joined Jia Yuan Law Offices as a partner in both Hong Kong and Beijing. Ng's focus at the firm will be on capital markets, building upon her existing expertise in international capital markets, international mergers and acquisitions, and banking and finance.
Before her move to Jia Yuan, Ng held prominent positions at several prestigious law firms. She began her career at O'Melveny & Myers and Shearman & Sterling before joining Davis Polk in 2021. At Davis Polk, she was involved in significant Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), including the $696 million Hong Kong IPO of Chinese autonomous driving firm Horizon Robotics and the $330 million IPO of tea chain ChaPanda.
In addition to her capital markets work, Ng is recognised for her work in impact investing and wealth management. She is currently a Managing Director at AlTi Tiedemann Global, where she co-leads the firm's impact investing strategy worldwide. Her work emphasises gender and racial equity, targeting investments that enhance access, affordability, and equitable capital flows toward diverse ownership models and fund managers.
At Jia Yuan Law Offices, Ng will work alongside capital markets partner Wanda Woo, one of the five partners at the Hong Kong office. Wanda Woo, who joined Jia Yuan last year from A&O Shearman, is also a capital markets expert. The addition of Ng and Woo is expected to strengthen Jia Yuan Law Offices' capital markets capabilities in both Beijing and Hong Kong.
Jia Yuan Law Offices now boasts 17 lawyers in Hong Kong, with Ng's arrival increasing the number of partners to six. Ng was previously a partner at HM Chan & Co in association with Taylor Wessing.
