Gearing up to shake up the tech titans such as OpenAI and Google, Higgsfield—a Kazakh Astana-based startup that has garnered an impressive $16 million investment—has stormed into the global scene, as Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, declared during a Mazhilis (Kazakh Parliament's lower house) meeting on April 2, according to Kazinform.
“Higgsfield is a cutting-edge generative AI model, churning out videos based on textual prompts. The startup has managed to catch the attention of significant Silicon Valley venture funds and is now standing toe-to-toe with OpenAI and Google’s innovative offerings,” said Madiyev.
🔍 Modernizing the State's Support System for the Innovation Industry 🔍
During the Mazhilis plenary session, lawmakers green-lit a draft bill aimed at upgrading state support for the innovation ecosystem. The proposed legislation will consolidate all state support measures into the Astana Hub Innovation Cluster Fund, the move expected to streamline the country's innovation landscape.
“Our aim is more than consolidation—it’s scaling the exceptional practices of Astana Hub, which has proven its mettle in the IT arena. These amendments chiefly optimize management, marking a genuine transformation of state support systems—and the results will show,” said Madiyev.

Madiyev highlighted that innovative companies nurtured by Astana Hub are aggressively targeting international markets.
“Thanks to a top-notch team and strategic partnerships with renowned global brands, we’ve established a comprehensive IT ecosystem boasting 1,500 residents, 400 of which have foreign involvement, creating 28,000 jobs. Currently, around 500 resident companies generate $480 million in annual exports,” added Madiyev.
