Dacia Unveils Hipster: Affordable Electric City Car for Rural Areas
Dacia has unveiled the Hipster, a compact electric city car designed to cater to the demand for practical and affordable electric mobility, particularly in rural areas. The Hipster Concept, set to launch as early as 2030, promises a blend of space, simplicity, and sustainability.
The Hipster Concept, measuring just over three meters in length and with a light weight, offers seating for four adults and a small trunk. Its top speed reaches 90 km/h, suitable for short distances, which Dacia targets for rural users. The car's range stands at around 120 km, sufficient for typical commuting distances with two weekly charges.
Visually, the Hipster resembles 45 km/h vehicles, featuring nearly vertical windows and only three painted surfaces for individualization. Dacia has focused on pragmatism, forgoing expensive infotainment systems and utilizing smartphones as the digital vehicle key and display. The car boasts eleven mounting points for individual accessories, allowing owners to customize it to their needs.
The Dacia Hipster, with its compact size, affordability, and practical features, aims to boost electric mobility in rural areas. Its market launch is expected by 2030, offering a sustainable and space-efficient solution for short-distance travel.
