Daimler Buses Unveils Electric Intercity Bus, Cologne Launches Charging Pilot
Daimler Buses is set to revolutionise sustainable travel with its latest innovations. The company is unveiling the eIntouro, a battery-electric intercity bus, at Busworld Europe in Brussels. Meanwhile, Cologne is kicking off a pilot project to install four fast-charging points for electric buses and coaches.
The eIntouro, due to be revealed at the Busworld Europe exhibition, can travel up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. It can be equipped with one or two LFP batteries, ensuring a long range for intercity travel. Daimler Buses plans to introduce fuel cell coaches by 2030, following the launch of battery-electric coaches.
Cologne is at the forefront of this sustainable initiative. The city is installing four public fast-charging points for electric buses and coaches. This pilot project aims to support zero-emission travel and advance sustainable tourism infrastructure. Daimler Buses Solutions will oversee the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of these charging stations.
