DAZN Unveils ST 2110 Central Command Center Globally for FIFA Club World Cup 2025

In a significant move to bolster its live sports broadcasting capabilities, streaming service DAZN has partnered with broadcast technology integrator Techex and software-based IP media monitoring and control provider TAG Video Systems. The collaboration has resulted in a cutting-edge, scalable, IP-based Master Control Room (MCR) in Leeds, UK, designed to support the complexity and pace of high-profile sporting events.

At the heart of this new MCR is TAG’s Media Control System (MCS), managed through a redundant central interface. This system architecture enables highly flexible and scalable operation, allowing any video source to be routed to any operator or screen without reconfiguration. This reduces bandwidth use and eliminates duplicate infrastructure, providing bandwidth optimization and infrastructure efficiency.

The infrastructure was built specifically to cater to the immediate demand for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, as well as considering DAZN's future requirements. It offers centralized control and monitoring, providing unified visibility over more than 5,000 unique video inputs and outputs. This centralization is key to managing the vast number of feeds essential for global coverage of 63 FIFA Club World Cup matches.

The operator console, designed by Techex, is touch-compatible and allows for real-time interaction with mosaic-switching feeds, ad marker validation, audio adjustment, and alarm management. Its intuitive, role-based design minimizes complexity and eliminates the need for engineering intervention for daily tasks.

Richard Bailey, chief product and technology officer at Techex, praised the solution, stating that it is technically sound, operator-friendly, and built for DAZN’s evolving needs. Kevin Joyce, zero friction officer at TAG Video Systems, described the project as a great example of partnership focused on real-world results.

As the exclusive global broadcast partner for the tournament, DAZN delivered every match live and free to fans around the world. The tournament featured 32 of the most successful clubs from every continent and spanned 63 matches. The system, powered by TAG's Media Control System (MCS) and managed through a redundant central interface, provided centralized control over more than 5,000 unique video sources and 300 mosaic layouts, enabling enhanced operational agility and risk reduction, and ensuring quicker responses and smarter workflows during live sports coverage.

Techex used technologies such as tx edge to provide protection and monitoring of signals, optimizing signal quality and ensuring delivery. This focus on signal quality is crucial for maintaining the high standards expected of DAZN's live sports broadcasts.

In summary, DAZN's FIFA Club World Cup 2025 infrastructure features a cutting-edge, scalable, IP-based Master Control Room powered by TAG’s software platform and implemented by Techex. This solution offers centralized video source management, improved bandwidth efficiency, and enhanced operational control for global live sports broadcasting.
