Defective Multi-Tool Blades in Leatherman Products Pose Risk of Lacerations, Prompting a Recall
Leatherman, a renowned manufacturer of high-quality multi-tools, has issued a voluntary recall for its Charge Plus and Charge Plus TTi multi-tools due to a manufacturing defect. The recall covers multi-tools sold between July 2024 and March 2025.
The issue at hand is that the tip of the knife blade may not fully fold into the handle, creating a potential laceration hazard for users. No reports of injuries have been received regarding this issue, but Leatherman is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of its customers.
The affected multi-tools were sold at REI, cutlery and hardware stores, Leatherman’s website, Amazon, and other retailers nationwide. They were retailed for $150-200.

There, you can determine if your specific multi-tool falls within the recall scope by following the instructions provided. You do not need to submit proof of purchase for the recall process, and Leatherman will provide a prepaid shipping label to send your tool to them for a free repair.
If your tool is affected, you are advised to stop using it immediately and follow the recall process for repair or replacement. The number of units included in the recall is 17,000.
