A Spectacular Call for Action: Greenpeace's Drone Show
Drones Carrying a Single Communication.
A staggering display of 300 drones flocked to Cornwall, orchestrated by Greenpeace, demanding immediate action from G7 leaders to combat the intensifying climate and nature crisis.
A Cinematic Plea to the Powerful Leaders
This thrilling spectacle, honed by Greenpeace, employs a cutting-edge AI-driven choreography that designs mesmerizing 3D animals and text. The amalgamation of expertise from drone artist company Celestial, projection artists from Projections On Walls, and animators from We Are Covert brought this vision to life.
With twice as many drones illuminating the skies, as used in their Hogmanay performances, this display ranks among the UK's largest drone shows ever produced. These drone configurations reached monumental heights of up to 76 meters and extended 122 meters in length.
A Symphony of Animal Spirits Touching Down in Cornwall
The film kicks off with a projection of a turtle gracefully swimming across the cliff face of Mullion Cove in Cornwall, set to a child's voice narrating, "Long ago, world leaders convened in Cornwall to shape our future." Following is a stunning parade of animals, including a jaguar, a tuna, and a bee. Gradually, these creatures transform into "animal spirits," crafted by hundreds of drones that dance through the skies.
In the film's heart-pounding climax, the drone animals converge over a cliff in Cornwall, where the G7 summit is underway. In the grand finale, the drone creatures morph into the words "Act now," carrying a powerful message that echoes across the skies.
As the curtain falls, footage captures Greenpeace activists at RAF Mildenhall, unfurling a banner proclaiming the same call to action as their aerial counterparts, when U.S. President Joe Biden arrived in the UK.
A Symphony of Sound: Hannah Peel and the Ulster Orchestra Take Center Stage
The film's haunting soundtrack is the symphonic collaboration between producer and Emmy-nominated composer Hannah Peel and the Ulster Orchestra. With a diverse repertoire that includes film, theater, and television scores, such as Game of Thrones, Peel brings her unique compositional flair to the Greenpeace spectacular.
