Effortless Match Tracks with Mocha Pro 2024 Version
Mocha Pro 2024, the latest iteration of the popular visual effects and motion graphics plugin, is now available for a wide range of host applications, including Adobe After Effects & Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Autodesk Flame, Blackmagic Fusion, Foundry Nuke, VEGAS Pro, and more.
This update brings several key features and improvements focused on 3D tracking, performance, and workflow integration. One of the most significant enhancements is the new Area Brush tool, which simplifies the creation of planar tracking and masking shapes by converting brush strokes into vector splines. This accelerates shape creation and multi-shape tracking setups, and offers support for pressure-sensitive Wacom tablets.
The planar tracking engine, known for its reliability in the industry, underpins all Mocha Pro modules—including 3D Camera Solver, object removal, and stabilization—and now benefits from unlimited tracking layers and an advanced AdjustTrack module to better handle complex conditions such as reflections, occlusions, noise, motion blur, and low detail areas.
In terms of color management and workflow integration, Mocha Pro 2024 adds OpenColorIO (OCIO) support compatible with the Academy Color Encoding Specification (ACES). This ensures consistent and predictable color display, aligning with major post-production tools like Silhouette, NUKE, Autodesk Flame, and Avid Media Composer.
While some new features on 3D tracking improvements in the latest versions of After Effects or other host apps were noted, these primarily relate to the host applications rather than Mocha Pro itself. The core improvements in Mocha Pro 2024 rest on the planar tracker, integrating better painting tools, unlimited layers, and enhanced color management for improved performance and workflow synergy.
Mocha Pro 2024 also offers Advanced Tracking & Roto Tools for more efficient handling of tasks. It allows users to Work How They Want with USD exports and greater AE host integration. The new release can automatically detect, analyze, and solve 3D cameras with the speed of SynthEyes and the flexibility of Mocha Pro's award-winning planar tracking and interface.
The new Mocha Pro 2024 release will be showcased at NAB in April, and can also be seen at partner booths - Dell and AMD at NAB. A live stream event about Mocha Pro 2024 will take place on Thursday, April 4th, at 2 pm ET, 11 am PT, and 6 pm UTC.
Mocha Pro 2024 is a free update for existing customers on an active monthly/annual subscription or upgrade & support plan. Pricing for Mocha Pro 2024 starts at $295/year or $37/month. A 14-day free trial can be requested via the Boris FX Hub, which can also be used to download and install Mocha Pro.
