The Australian market is now home to two new electric vehicles from Hyundai: the Ioniq 5 and the Inster. Both models offer a range of features and price points to suit various needs and budgets.

Pricing and Trims for the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5

The base Standard Range RWD variant of the Ioniq 5 starts at approximately $69,800 AUD before on-road costs. The range includes more premium trims and performance versions priced up to the low $90,000s AUD.

The base model comes equipped with features such as 19-inch alloys, LED headlights and tail lights, keyless entry/start, adaptive cruise control, heat pump, leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, dual-zone climate control, and a surround-view monitor. Service packages include capped-price servicing for the first three visits, priced at $610 for two years/30,000 km and $1,220 for four years/60,000 km.

The Hyundai Inster: A New Electric Option

The Hyundai Inster, with a starting price of $39,000 plus on-road costs, joins the electric vehicle market in Australia. The Standard Range model can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 11.7 seconds and has a WLTP range of 327km.

All Inster models come with a full safety equipment suite, including features such as autonomous emergency braking, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, auto high beam, rear occupant alert, blind-spot monitoring, driver attention alert, and pedestrian, cyclist, and intersection assistance.

Extended Range and Cross Models of the Inster

The Extended Range model uses a 49kWh battery for a claimed 360km of range and a more powerful 84.5kW/147Nm motor, allowing for a faster 0-100km/h time of 10.6 seconds. This model adds larger 17-inch wheels to the standard equipment. The Cross model further adds a sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, blind-spot cameras, front parking sensors, ambient cabin lighting, off-road-style bumpers, and a different wheel design.

The top-spec Cross model uses the Extended Range drivetrain and, with the optional roof basket, claims a reduced range of 293km.

Colour Options and Availability

The Inster is available in nine colours: Urban Khaki, Natural Ivory, Buttercream Yellow, Sienna Orange, Dusk Blue, Aero Silver, Amazonas Green, and new matte options of Dusk Blue and Amazonas Green (additional $1,000 for matte options). Local deliveries of the Hyundai Inster are due to commence soon in Australia.

Fast Charging Capabilities

Hyundai claims a 30-minute 10 to 80 per cent fast charging time at up to 85kW for the Extended Range and Cross models, and AC charging of up to 10.5kW.
