Electric Subaru SUV known as Uncharted set for arrival in the UK market

Subaru has announced the introduction of three new fully electric models set to hit the UK market, with the anticipated release of the Subaru Solterra, the innovative Uncharted crossover SUV, and the E-Outback. While specific pricing and final specifications for the Uncharted and E-Outback models have yet to be revealed, these details are expected to be disclosed closer to the launch dates.

The Subaru Solterra, set for release at the end of 2025, boasts a powerful dual e-axle system delivering 252 kW (344 horsepower), enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.1 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 73.1 kWh battery, offering a range of more than 310 miles, and features an updated design, enhanced safety systems, and improved performance.

The Uncharted, scheduled for release in early 2026, offers versatility with front-wheel-drive variants available for extended range and lower pricing options. While the power output, acceleration, and battery capacity are yet to be announced, it is known that the Uncharted will share its platform with the forthcoming Toyota C-HR. Recharging the Uncharted from 10 to 80 percent could take 30 minutes with a 22kW onboard charger included as standard.

The E-Outback, due for release in the summer of 2026, is based on the same platform as the Solterra and boasts a 380 PS electric drivetrain, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds. The E-Outback also offers increased luggage capacity and features dual X-mode terrain selection, 210mm ground clearance, and a 1,500 kg towing capacity. The E-Outback was unveiled as the 'Trailseeker' at this year's New York International Auto Show.

In a bid to address criticism of its battery range, the Solterra's 'Long Range' model, equipped with a larger 77kWh battery, can offer up to 363 miles of driving when fully charged. The Uncharted, equipped with the same 344hp dual-motor powertrain as the Solterra, offers 210mm of ground clearance for true off-road ability.

Subaru has not yet revealed the specific pricing for the UK market for the Uncharted and E-Outback models. Sales of the Uncharted will commence in early 2026, with UK prices to be confirmed nearer the time. The 2026 Solterra SUV, a revised version of the existing model, will join the electric Subaru range, while the Uncharted will offer three powertrain options.

Standard equipment for the Uncharted includes a squared-off steering wheel with paddle shifters, dual wireless charging pads, and Subaru's 14-inch infotainment touchscreen. The E-Outback will also be brought to the UK market in 2026, but pricing and further specifications are yet to be announced.
