Enhanced Energy in Vauxhall's Mokka through increased caffeine content in the new GSE variant
Vauxhall has unveiled a new addition to its electric lineup, the Mokka GSE. Known within the company as the 'Grand Sport Electric', this performance-oriented SUV is set to challenge sporty electric SUVs from sister brands Abarth and Alfa Romeo.
Exterior and Interior Design
The Mokka GSE boasts an aggressive-looking exterior, with an updated front bumper, extra black trim, GSE badging, yellow brake calipers, and GSE wording on the front doors. The interior showcases new sports seats adorned with Alcantara trim and yellow stitching, giving it a sporty and premium feel.
Performance and Range
Powering the Mokka GSE is a 280 hp electric motor, paired with a mechanical limited-slip differential, that propels the SUV from 0 to 62mph in just 5.9 seconds, making it Vauxhall's fastest electric model. However, the increased performance comes at the cost of range, with an estimated 200 miles on a full charge. This reduction compared to the standard Mokka Electric's claimed range of approximately 247-250 miles is due to the GSE's higher performance specifications despite sharing the same 54 kWh battery.
Additional Features
The Mokka GSE also features a stiffer suspension for better performance handling, 20-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tyres, larger 380mm brake discs with four-piston calipers for improved stopping power, and digital displays that show additional data for power, battery temperature, and torque.
Pricing information for the Mokka GSE will be revealed at a later date, with a predicted starting price of just under £40,000.
