The expansion includes the construction of three new mobile sites in Bad Ems, Dahlheim, and Dierdorf, as well as the modernization of an existing site in Lahnstein. The improved coverage extends to several railway lines, including Ludwigshafen-Saarbrücken, Mainz-Cologne, and Rhineland-Palatinate North. This development means that passengers on these lines will also benefit from better mobile connectivity.
The modernization of these sites has significantly increased the supply of fast mobile internet, benefiting residents in Dahlheim, Dierdorf, and Lahnstein. In fact, the improved coverage now includes 98% of the district's population.
Telekom currently operates 60 mobile sites in the Rhein-Lahn district, and plans to add another 27 sites over the next three years. Furthermore, the company plans to expand 19 mobile sites with LTE or 5G technology.
