Enhancements Introduced for Belarus Identification Card Holders

In a significant move to enhance digital convenience, Belarusians now have easier access to online services offered by OAO "NKFO ERIP", a leading company in developing online payment services popular among the Belarusian population.

As of September 1, 2023, Belarusians with ID cards can utilise ERIP online services around the clock without the need for prior ID card confirmation at MCI (Ministry of Communications and Informatisation). This change, explained by OAO "NKFO" ERIP, aims to streamline the process and make it more user-friendly for ID card holders.

Previously, ID card confirmation was necessary for accessing MCI services through ERIP. This requirement often involved installing a special NFC app on a smartphone, buying a specific reader, or visiting the bank. However, with the recent changes, this confirmation is no longer required, making the process more accessible for a larger number of users.

The changes also extend to Belarusians' personal cabinets and data in ERIP. ID card owners who have visited their serving bank at least once in the last three years can now use MCI services without needing to confirm their ID card beforehand. This means that users can easily manage their online data for banks and government organisations through the MCI cabinet.

Moreover, ERIP has ensured that their system is equally convenient for holders of all types of documents - paper passports and ID cards. This move towards digitalisation is expected to significantly improve the efficiency and user experience of online services in Belarus.

The changes in access to MCI services for ID card holders were reported by Telegraf.news, highlighting the impact and importance of this development. It is worth noting that the data of ID card owners will be automatically verified with state resources regardless of the entry method used, ensuring the security and integrity of personal information.

This development marks a significant step forward in digitalising Belarus's services and making them more accessible to its citizens. With these changes, Belarus continues to adapt and innovate in the digital age, providing its citizens with a more seamless and efficient online experience.
