Etsy Launches AI Writing Assistant for Sellers
Etsy has rolled out a new writing assistant to help sellers craft personalized replies to buyers, using shop details. This AI tool is part of Etsy's ongoing effort to introduce more AI-powered features to aid sellers in managing their businesses and promoting products.
Rafe Colburn, Etsy's Chief Product and Technology Officer since September 8, 2025, has been overseeing both product and engineering operations under the president and chief growth officer. His role expanded from Chief Technology Officer to include product management following the departure of the previous chief product officer.
Etsy's latest AI tool, the writing assistant, aims to help sellers complete daily tasks faster, especially during peak shopping seasons. It drafts personalized replies to buyers using shop details, enabling sellers to communicate more efficiently. Etsy has also updated its dashboard to provide notifications for shipping orders, customer messages, and managing listings, ensuring sellers stay informed and organized.
Etsy plans to use AI for personalized communications like emails, push notifications, and homepages. It has already debuted an AI-powered listing title tool that generates search-optimized, buyer-friendly product titles. Additionally, Etsy is developing a new policy violations page and redesigning its community hub for sellers with AI-powered search. In April, Etsy introduced a new browseable shopping experience using AI and human intelligence for curated product collections.
Etsy's focus on AI-powered tools is helping sellers run their businesses more efficiently. By automating tasks and providing AI-driven insights, Etsy is enabling sellers to improve shop performance and enhance the buyer experience. As competitors like eBay and Walmart also adopt AI tools, Etsy continues to innovate and support its seller community.
