Expanded DLC Transformation Justifies High Price Tag: Developer of Dying Light: The Beast Argues Bigger, Denser, and More Advanced Game Than Originally Anticipated Warrants $60 Cost

In an exciting turn of events, Techland's latest offering, Dying Light: The Beast, has grown from its initial conception as downloadable content (DLC) for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, into a full-fledged standalone game. This transformation justifies the game's $60 price tag, according to Tymon Smektała, the game's creative director.

The game, set to release across multiple platforms, retains the original game's protagonist, Kyle Crane, and promises an expanded gameplay experience. Players can look forward to open-world exploration, parkour, combat abilities including the much-anticipated "Beast Mode," and cooperative multiplayer.

Smektała has hinted at approximately 20 to 30 hours of additional content in Dying Light: The Beast, making it a substantial addition to the Dying Light universe. The game's scope has expanded significantly, with a higher mission count, more minutes of cut-scenes, unique characters, new enemy designs, additional content, collectibles, secrets, and Easter eggs.

One notable change is the balance between guns and melee combat. In a nod to the series' complex relationship with firearms, guns in Dying Light: The Beast will have a balance similar to melee combat, offering an improved approach to the series' weaponry.

The developers at Techland have worked diligently to add, upgrade, and tweak the game, ensuring a polished and immersive experience for players. The game is estimated to run for approximately 37 hours for a full playthrough, with side quests and activities potentially doubling that playtime.

Smektała encourages doubters to wait until they see the final package before judging the full price point. With its substantial growth from the initial plan, Dying Light: The Beast is set to deliver a rich and engaging experience for fans of the series and newcomers alike.

  1. "With its expanded gameplay, open-world exploration, and cooperative multiplayer, players can expect a full-fledged standalone game experience like never before, even on console platforms, especially with games like PS5."
  2. "Gadget enthusiasts and technology aficionados will appreciate the upgraded game mechanics and improved weaponry, including the 'Beast Mode' in Dying Light: The Beast."
  3. "The abundance of additional content, such as unique characters, new enemy designs, collectibles, secrets, and Easter eggs, will offer hours of immersive entertainment to news enthusiasts."
  4. "Although some might doubt the $60 price tag, the substantial growth and polished features in Dying Light: The Beast justify the deal, making it an action-packed must-have for gamers."
