Expanding Ant International's presence in Europe: President Douglas Feagin discusses extending Alipay+ beyond Asia's borders

Ant International, the global arm of Ant Group, is making strides in its European expansion. The company, headquartered in Singapore, is capitalizing on the potential for growth in digital payments across the continent.

Ant International's strategy in Europe revolves around expanding comprehensive payment solutions through strategic partnerships, enhancing AI-driven fintech innovation, and supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) via advanced digital and cross-border payment technologies.

In pursuit of this strategy, Ant International has launched AI-enhanced platforms like Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit and Alipay+ EasySafePay 360. These solutions offer AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) tools that empower fintech businesses and protect users against fraud. The emphasis is on local market adaptation, financial security, and enabling SMEs to grow using AI-driven tools tailored for emerging markets across Europe and Asia.

WorldFirst, part of Ant International, is also playing a significant role in this expansion. WorldFirst is actively expanding in Southeast Asia and Europe, recently obtaining a Class A Money Services Business licence in Malaysia to enhance cross-border payment solutions for SMEs. It focuses on multi-currency payment settlement, competitive foreign exchange rates, and treasury management services, supporting international trade and digital commerce growth in key global and regional markets.

However, there is no current public evidence in the recent sources about Ant International sponsoring Euro 2024 or distinct developments concerning "Antom." If sponsorship exists, it has not been publicly highlighted in these sources as of August 2025.

Ant International's business in Europe is currently expanding, with a focus remaining on growing Alipay+ merchants in the continent. The company aims to grow Alipay+, its online payments platform, globally, and has enabled Alipay payments in over 50 countries.

Ant Group, the parent company, is one of the most important payments companies in China. Ant International initially aimed to bring Ant Group's financial infrastructure to the international market. It has a comprehensive merchant footprint in Asia and operates Antom, its online payments platform, globally.

Douglas Feagin is the President of Ant International. The company's newsletter offers extensive research and analysis on cross-border payments globally. Ant International's business in Europe requires more focus due to the growing potential for digital transactions, driving the company's current focus on expanding its business in the continent.

In conclusion, Ant International's European growth strategy is centred on strategic fintech partnerships, AI innovation for digital payments and commerce, and expanding global payment infrastructure like WorldFirst to serve SMEs. While there is no current public evidence of Ant International's sponsorship of Euro 2024, the company continues to make significant strides in its European expansion.
