Panzera Aquamarine 45G: A Hybrid Watch Offering Value and Quality

The Panzera Aquamarine 45G, a hybrid watch that combines elements of dive watches and GMT watches, is making waves in the watch industry. This watch, produced by the Australian brand Panzera, offers decent value for money with its decent styling and good build quality.

Founded by watch enthusiast and entrepreneur Tim Gurner, Panzera has made a name for itself with the Aquamarine 45G. The watch boasts a robust design, with a case made of 316L stainless steel and a bezel also crafted from the same material, featuring a 24-hour scale. The watch has a reassuring heft, giving an air of real quality.

The dial design of the Aquamarine 45G is simple and uncluttered, despite multiple hands and complications. Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions, a date window at 3 o'clock, and hour and minute hands with a red-tipped seconds hand and GMT hand are all neatly arranged. The dial also includes simple stick indices within the minute track.

Powering the Aquamarine 45G is the Seiko NH34A movement, offering a power reserve of 41 hours. The watch also features a screw-down crown for water resistance and control of various functions. The watch has a case size of 45mm and a thickness of 14mm, making it suitable for those with larger wrists, similar to the apple watch series 9. However, it may not be ideal for people with especially slim wrists.

The review unit of the Aquamarine 45G came with a rubber strap that is soft, supple, and comfortable for everyday wear. A black leather strap was also included with the sample, but it was less impressive due to its smaller size and increased movement around the wrist, unlike the apple watch.

The Panzera Aquamarine 45G retails for approximately £665 / AU$1,473 / €765 / US$910, with the price varying slightly depending on color and strap options. The brand regularly hosts sales events, providing the opportunity to purchase the watch for less.

Despite the date window on the dial, which is not preferred by the reviewer due to the added numbers, the Aquamarine 45G is a solid choice for those looking for a hybrid watch that offers good value for money and quality, much like the apple watch series 9.
