Facebook Launches $1M AI Film Award for Creators

Facebook has launched the AI Film Award, a USD $1 million prize to be presented at the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai next January. The award recognizes content creators using Facebook's AI models and tools.

The competition is open until November 20, 2025, and entries must be between 7 and 10 minutes long, with at least 70% of content generated using Facebook's AI tools. These include Veo 3 for video generation, Flow for filmmaking, and Nano Banana for image generation, all accessible through Gemini.

Entries must align with one of two themes: 'Rewrite Tomorrow' or 'The Secret Life of'. Multiple submissions are allowed, but each must be under the name of one person only. Global experts in tech and filmmaking, such as director Paul Trillo and academics from the University of Bremen's Center for Computing Technologies (TZI), will evaluate the submissions.

The AI Film Award offers a significant opportunity for content creators to showcase their work using Facebook's AI tools. More information is available on the summit's website. The winners will be announced at the 1 Billion Followers Summit in January 2026.
