Fast-food chain Bojangles to install electric vehicle charging stations at the majority of its outlets.
Bojangles, the Southern food chain with around 800 company-owned and franchised restaurants, is partnering with Smart Big Box, Alyath EV, and Energy and Environmental Design Services to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at a wide range of its locations.
Each Bojangles restaurant will have a minimum of four charging spots, with a mix of Level 2 (medium speed) and Level 3 (high speed/DC fast) chargers. The chargers boast over 97% uptime, ensuring reliability for drivers. The rollout of these charging stations is expected to begin in late 2025, with full accessibility planned for 2026.
Energy and Environmental Design Services is the exclusive installer and maintenance partner, while Alyath will operate the EV charging network. This initiative aims to provide convenience for EV drivers who can charge their vehicles while enjoying Bojangles’ menu offerings, aligning with evolving customer needs and sustainability goals.
According to Cristiane Rosul, CEO of Alyath, by offering EV charging, Bojangles is offering a new convenience. Richard Del Valle, Chief Information Officer at Bojangles, stated that the focus is on offering a fast, friendly, and convenient experience for guests.
This partnership marks Bojangles' entry into the electric vehicle charging industry and positions the chain as a leader in the future of quick-service dining. The partnership aligns with efforts towards a more eco-friendly future.
