Funding to the tune of USD 15 million in Series B, spearheaded by Skycatcher and Steadview Capital, will foster the growth of SuperGaming's SuperPlatform, enabling its capacity for large-scale multiplayer games to expand.

SuperGaming Secures $15 Million Series B Funding for International Expansion

Indian game developer SuperGaming has secured a $15 million Series B funding round, led by existing investors Skycatcher and Steadview Capital. The investment round also saw participation from global strategic investors such as a16z Speedrun, Bandai Namco 021 Fund, Polygon Ventures, Neowiz, GFR Fund, IVC Japan, Loud.GG, and individual backers including Polygon cofounder Sandeep Nailwal.

With the fresh funding, SuperGaming plans to accelerate its game launches in Latin America and the Middle East, strengthen its development capabilities, and continue building infrastructure to support large-scale, community-driven multiplayer games. The company is rolling out its flagship title, Indus Battle Royale, internationally beginning with Latin America, partnering with regional partners such as Loud.GG, and targeting Europe and other emerging markets thereafter.

The funding round will also be used to scale SuperPlatform, a Google Cloud–powered, cloud-native backend for live-service multiplayer games. The aim is to serve more titles and to be offered to third-party developers and publishers in emerging markets that lack comparable infrastructure. SuperPlatform offers tools for live game operations, telemetry, analytics, monetisation, and social features, making it an attractive offering for developers looking to build and manage large-scale multiplayer games.

SuperGaming's CEO and Co-founder, Roby John, stated that India's role in gaming is evolving from a consumer market to a driving force in innovation. He noted that the partnership with B3 GameChain, a gaming-focused Layer-3 blockchain, will enable interoperability and digital asset ownership for players, further positioning SuperGaming as a leader in the gaming industry.

Natsuhiro Maruyama, an investor from the Bandai Namco 021 Fund, highlighted the partnership's potential, combining Bandai Namco's global intellectual property expertise with SuperGaming's understanding of the Indian gaming market, creating opportunities for growth in India and internationally.

SuperGaming, a leading game developer based in India, operates from Pune and Singapore and employs more than 120 people. The company's portfolio includes popular mobile titles such as MaskGun, Tower Conquest, Battle Stars, and Silly Royale, which collectively have over 200 million downloads. In the fiscal year ending March 2024, SuperGaming reported revenue of INR 43.4 crore with a net profit of INR 3.9 crore.

Industry observers note that India's gaming sector is expanding rapidly, with market research estimating annual revenue of USD 9.2 billion by the 2029 financial year. This growth presents a significant opportunity for SuperGaming to establish itself as a global leader in the gaming industry.
