PlaySuper, a gaming commerce platform that embeds real-world rewards directly into games, has successfully secured $1 million in a seed funding round. The funding round was led by Singapore-based gaming VC, Chimera, with participation from Audacity VC, IAN Capital Fund, and Dhruv Vohra, Meta's Managing Director for APAC Emerging Markets.

Founded by Shouradeep Chakraborty, Upamanyu Chatterjee, and Abhir Das, PlaySuper is designed to help free-to-play and skill-based games unlock sustainable monetisation. The platform's unique rewards-as-a-service model allows players to earn branded rewards, such as gift cards and consumer products, while playing on the platform.

Chimera sees PlaySuper as a category-defining solution that bridges gaming, brands, and consumer behaviour. Krish Anurag, General Partner at Chimera, believes that gaming commerce is the next significant monetization unlock for emerging markets.

The early partners of PlaySuper have reportedly experienced significant enhancements in user retention and monetization. Abhir Das, Co-founder & CBO of PlaySuper, states that PlaySuper offers users the opportunity to win aspirational and real rewards during every gaming session, which keeps them engaged and drives commerce at scale.

PlaySuper's rewards-as-a-service model is planned to be expanded across India and Southeast Asia. Chimera believes that PlaySuper's early traction confirms the model's effectiveness, and they believe the company is well-positioned to become the backbone of monetization for free-to-play and skill-based games across the region.

Notably, PlaySuper does not disrupt gameplay by relying on intrusive ads or volatile cash incentives. The platform has reportedly surpassed $350,000 in monthly GMV (Gross Merchandise Volume).

PlaySuper's founders, Chakraborty, Chatterjee, and Das, serve as the CEO, COO, and CBO, respectively. The company's mission is to revolutionise the gaming industry by providing a seamless and engaging user experience while generating sustainable revenue for game developers and brands.

With the recent funding, PlaySuper aims to accelerate its growth, expand its team, and further develop its technology to offer even more innovative and engaging gaming experiences to its users.
