Geely NZ Launches EX5 Electric SUV to Challenge Midsize Rivals

Geely NZ has launched its new pure-electric SUV, the EX5, aiming to compete with key midsize ICE, HEV, and PHEV rivals. The EX5 will be available in showrooms from April, with pre-orders open at the official NZ dealer website. The entry price has been confirmed at $51,990 for the Complete model and $55,990 for the Inspire model.

The EX5 comes with an impressive standard warranty package, including 7-year, unlimited-km cover, 8-year, unlimited-km battery warranty, 7-year roadside assist, and 2 years of connected car data. The Inspire model boasts additional luxuries such as a panoramic sunroof, six-mode massage front seats, and a 16-speaker sound system. The Complete model offers a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, powered and heated front seats, and an impressive range of up to 430km (WLTP).

Geely NZ offers a launch offer for the EX5, including a 3-year service plan up to 60,000km and free metallic paint (normally $950). Test drives will be available from April 15 at Giltrap Geely in Grey Lynn and Christchurch. Geely NZ has a long-term plan to bring a range of cars to suit kiwi drivers, with the EX5 being the first model.

The Geely EX5 enters a competitive market for electric SUVs in New Zealand, facing key rivals such as BYD, MG, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, and Tesla Model Y. With its attractive pricing, generous warranty, and appealing features, the EX5 is well-positioned to challenge established players and gain market share. Consumers are advised to consider a test drive and compare specifications to make an informed decision.
