Christie Projectors Transform Educational Institutions into Immersive Learning Environments

Christie projectors are making a significant impact on the world of education, transforming traditional learning spaces into immersive and visually captivating environments. Two such projects, at Osmania University's Arts College in India and La Selva geodesic dome in Medellin, Colombia, showcase the power of Christie's technology in enhancing the learning experience.

At Osmania University's Arts College, the decision to use Christie projectors was based on their reliability and minimal maintenance requirements. Knownsense Studios provided creative content expertise for the light and sound show, while Aura Bright Light India managed the integration, installation, testing, and commissioning of the Christie DWU23-HS projectors. Aura Bright Light India's expertise in integrating advanced AV technologies with historic architecture ensured a seamless blend of modern visuals with the university's history. The Christie projectors create a 360-degree projected image on a 2852 square foot surface, covering the length of 350 feet and height of 60 feet of the Arts College's facade.

La Selva, an educational geodesic dome designed to foster appreciation and preservation of the Colombian rainforests, uses six 13,500-lumen Christie HS Series projectors. The exterior of La Selva closely resembles a traditional maloca or jungle dwelling. The project at La Selva, located in Medellín, aims to deliver seamless, wrap-around visuals in dome environments due to Christie's capabilities in edge blending and warping. The total resolution of the projection in La Selva is 3500x3500 pixels.

Rhino Engineers managed the project and provided design consultancy for the light and sound show at Osmania University's Arts College. Lonko Labs, the organization responsible for various aspects of the La Selva project, includes creative art direction, 3D modeling and animation, geodesic dome infrastructure, audiovisual integration, and the creation of original music.

The light and sound show at Osmania University's Arts College is one of several immersive and colorful experiences around the globe where Christie projectors have been selected. These projects demonstrate how Christie projectors enable immersive educational experiences through features such as high brightness, ultra-short throw lenses, laser illumination, support for high-resolution 4K content, and 3D visualization. These features combine to create deeply engaging, interactive experiences in educational settings, enhancing how students perceive and interact with visual information beyond traditional classrooms.
