Google Boosts Looker Studio with Enhanced Visualization, Control Features
Google has expanded the functionality of Looker Studio, introducing new features and enhancements on August 7, 2025. The updates focus on improving data visualization and control for users.
One of the key updates is the extension of conditional formatting to query result chips. This allows users to modify background and text colors based on data values, providing more dynamic and informative visuals.
Waterfall charts have also seen significant improvements. Google has released comprehensive documentation for these charts, offering enhanced control over data label presentations and position specification. Users can now customize axis parameters, including minimum and maximum values, custom tick intervals, and label rotation settings. These charts are particularly useful for financial analysis, tracking revenue gains and losses over time.
The new Search Ads 360 connector enhancements introduce custom column and dimension support. Advertisers can now integrate saved custom columns and dimensions directly into Looker Studio reports. Additionally, grid customization options offer granular control over chart appearance, allowing adjustments to grid colors, axis colors, font families, and more.
Looker connector capabilities have also been expanded, achieving general availability status. This includes enhanced calculated field functionality, enabling users to create complex data transformations without extensive technical knowledge.
