Google Expands AI Photo Editing Tools to All Google Photos Users

Google is expanding access to its AI-powered photo editing tools. From next month, all Google Photos users on iOS and Android will enjoy a selection of these advanced features, previously limited to Pixel phone owners and Google One subscribers.

The Magic Editor tool, introduced with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will now be available to everyone. This suite includes Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Portrait Light. Here's what users can expect:

Every Google Photos user will get 10 Magic Editor photo saves per month. For Pixel device users and Google One premium members with a 2TB storage plan, photo saves are unlimited. To use these features, users need a Google Pixel phone (Pixel 6 or newer), the Google Photos app installed and up to date, and a stable internet connection. Some advanced features may require a Google One or Google Pixel subscription.

Starting May 15, Google Photos users on iOS and Android will have free access to AI-powered photo editing tools. This move democratizes access to advanced editing features, previously exclusive to Pixel phone owners and Google One subscribers.
