Ho Chi Minh City organizes a trade networking event, focusing on industries like electronics and Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
The Week of Trade Networking and Product Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City
The Week of Trade Networking and Product Exhibition, held in Ho Chi Minh City from August 13 to August 19, is a significant event focusing on supporting industries, electronics, and ICT sectors. This event aims to provide a platform for enterprises to showcase their specialized products and establish connections with major domestic and international businesses, investors, and buyers [1][3].
Approximately 30 enterprises are participating in the event, showcasing technology solutions in various areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, e-commerce, smart management platforms (including ERP and CRM systems), smart logistics, blockchain, and Internet of Things applications [1]. The organizers of the event claim that the products on display offer practical applicability, comply with international standards, have relevance to digital transformation in production and business, and reflect innovative solutions aligned with global technology trends [3].
One of the exhibitors, TPX Technology JSC, showcased an integrated safety management solution for manufacturing and supporting industries, including ISO 45001-compliant software and mobile apps for incident reporting, risk identification, and workplace safety monitoring [4]. Another exhibitor, Phí Anh Tuấn, introduced visual data analytics dashboards for real-time monitoring of import-export activities, categorized by product, market, and HS code [2].
The event also features a seminar on new technology trends and hands-on workshops for export agriculture, export industry, SMEs, household businesses, and small traders focusing on practical technology adoption for sustainable digital transformation [3]. Phí Anh Tuấn, vice president of HCA and Digital Transformation Club for SMEs, emphasized the importance of digital adoption for SMEs due to rapid technological changes and increasing competition [5].
The digital technology industry in Vietnam has been growing rapidly, with 73,788 digital technology enterprises at the end of 2024, a 10.1% rise from 2023 [6]. The industry contributed $151.86 billion to the sector revenue, accounting for over 91% of sector revenue and equivalent to 11% of GDP [6]. Among these digital technology enterprises, 1,900 earned revenues from foreign markets, a 26.67% increase [6].
The event aims to connect exhibitors with global buyers, offering opportunities for cooperation and collaboration [1][3]. Nguyễn Anh Đức, vice president of the HCM City Computer Association (HCA), highlighted the exhibition's interactive booth design that enables visitors to experience smart manufacturing processes, test management software, and explore e-commerce platforms [4]. Phí Anh Tuấn pointed to the opportunities brought by digital technologies, stating they can increase productivity and level the playing field with larger firms [5].
However, despite this strong growth, Vietnam's digital infrastructure and economy have yet to reach their full potential, especially in electronics manufacturing and ICT [7]. The rapid advances in AI, big data, cloud computing, and IoT are driving operational changes and creating high-skill jobs, but challenges remain for SMEs, including limited budgets, adapting to technological shifts, and meeting "clean-green" standards in the domestic and export markets [5].
