Home-Delivered Iris Scanner: World Collaborates with Rappi for At-Home Setup

World Partners with Rappi to Expand Access to Iris Scanners for Digital Identity Verification

World, a platform offering unique and anonymous "humanity tests" through iris scanners, has announced a partnership with Rappi's delivery service to expand the availability of iris scanners at home. This collaboration marks an important milestone in providing secure and anonymous digital identity verification.

The iris scanner, specifically the Orb device, will be accessible through the Rappi app, much like any other product. Users can specify the day and time for delivery, and the Rappitender (Rappi's designated deliverers) will manage the device's functioning, which operates autonomously with an internet connection, a QR code scan, and an eye photograph.

World's iris scanners confirm the uniqueness of an individual as a human without storing images. The device leverages advanced AI, improved camera systems, and 5G connectivity for efficient biometric verification, with processing done locally on the user's phone for privacy. Through the partnership with Rappi, these Orbs will be deployed as 'On Demand Orbs,' allowing users to access biometric identity verification conveniently and at scale.

World ID, generated from an iris scan, is essential for interacting with the Worldcoin cryptocurrency ecosystem. New platform members receive WLD tokens, Worldcoin's cryptocurrency, but only after obtaining a World ID. These tokens are not a payment but the only means to obtain them.

This expanded availability through Rappi supports World's mission of providing secure, privacy-preserving digital identity verification across diverse geographies. World has had a stand with Orb devices in the food court of the Abasto shopping center since the beginning of the year, and a few weeks ago, it announced an agreement with Krü's esports platform to use World ID for online game matches where only humans can participate.

The partnership between World and Rappi aims to offer iris scanner access throughout Argentina and later across Latin America, starting with neighborhoods Belgrano and Palermo. The collaboration intends to enhance trust and usability in digital and crypto ecosystems by scaling World's biometric verification technology in urban centers and on-demand environments.

The Orb devices, World's iris scanners, will be integrated with the Rappi app, allowing users to order these scanners as they would any other product. This integration in the Rappi delivery service marks an extension of World's mission to provide convenient and secure digital identity verification, utilizing finance for technology-driven expansion across urban centers, like Belgrano and Palermo, in Argentina and later, Latin America.
