iKingtec's Autonomous Drones Transform Power Grid Operations
iKingtec, a Chinese tech company established in 2017, has made waves in the power industry with its innovative drone solutions. The company recently showcased its cutting-edge, fully autonomous drone inspection systems at the 24th APPEA Conference, demonstrating its commitment to transforming national grid operations.
iKingtec's drones promise fully autonomous operations, planning flight paths and changing sensors automatically without human intervention. This sets them apart from competitors and aligns with China's national grid transformation plans during the '14th Five-Year Plan', which involve combined investments exceeding RMB 2.9 trillion (USD 407.5 billion).
The company's 'integration of machine-network-cloud' one-stop solution enables fully autonomous inspection, further distinguishing it in the market. iKingtec's drones have integrated into daily life, including agriculture, plant protection, surveying, and power inspection, enhancing efficiency and detecting defects using various sensors.
iKingtec introduced a 'new power operation and maintenance system' oriented toward 'source-network-load-storage' at the APPEA conference, extending its applications beyond grid scenes to new energy generation and complex environments. This shift began in 2019 when power line inspection transformed from manual foot patrols to drone-based operations.
iKingtec, having secured nearly RMB 10 billion (USD 1.39 billion) through eight funding rounds, is well-positioned to lead the power industry's digital transformation. Its autonomous drone systems promise improved efficiency, safety, and reliability in national grid inspection and maintenance, aligning with China's investment plans and industry trends.
