Improved housing access granted through Entrata's integration of Nova Credit's 'Credit Passport' solution.
In a significant move to promote financial inclusion and housing access, Nova Credit, a leading company specialising in credit infrastructure and analytics, has partnered with Entrata. This partnership aims to help newcomers to the US secure housing by providing access to their domestic credit history.
The integration of Nova Credit's Credit Passport with Entrata's ResidentVerify platform significantly expands housing access for international renters. This innovative solution enables them to use their international credit history to qualify for housing in the US.
Many international renters face difficulties securing housing due to the lack of a US credit history. Nova Credit’s Credit Passport translates verified credit data from international credit bureaus into a format understandable by US landlords and property managers.
Entrata’s ResidentVerify platform is widely used by property managers to screen applicants efficiently. By integrating Nova Credit’s Credit Passport, ResidentVerify can now incorporate international credit reports directly into their tenant screening process.
This integration allows landlords and property managers to confidently consider international renters by assessing their proven creditworthiness from their home countries, not just relying on a lack of US credit data. It reduces housing barriers for immigrants, students, expatriates, and other international renters.
Furthermore, the combination of Entrata’s screening technology with Nova Credit’s verified international credit data accelerates tenant verification while improving accuracy and reducing risk. This makes the housing application process smoother for both renters and landlords.
Nova Credit is also an Associate Partner of Open Banking Expo USA 2025, which is taking place on June 26 in New York. The event offers an opportunity to exhibit, partner, and register to attend. The company has already partnered with financial institutions such as HSBC, American Express, RBC, and Scotiabank.
Catherine Wong, chief operating officer and chief product officer at Entrata, stated that Entrata is committed to making the rental process more accessible and efficient for both property managers and residents. She added that the integration will enhance Entrata's resident screening platform, ResidentVerify.
Entrata has integrated Nova Credit's Credit Passport into its AI-driven operating system for multi-family communities. The integration provides access to credit data from 16 countries and more than two billion individuals.
Akaash Gupta, partnerships lead at Nova Credit, has added a statement that gaps in data access are preventing qualified applicants from securing housing in their new country. He further stated that the partnership intends to overcome this issue and provide a solution for newcomers who struggle to secure housing due to a lack of access to their domestic credit history.
In summary, the partnership between Nova Credit and Entrata facilitates greater inclusion for international renters by validating their creditworthiness internationally, thereby opening more housing opportunities in the US market.
